This special issue of Concurrency and Computation, Practice and Experience (CCPE) journal calls for submissions on Accelerator Virtualization. The call is open to:

  1. All contributions, including technically sound research that produced negative results, and

  2. Extended version of relevant papers from the 1st International Workshop on Next Generation Clouds (NextGenClouds 2018), co-located with the 47th International Conference on Parallel Processing (ICPP 2018), 13-16 August, 2018, Eugene, OR, USA.

Prospective authors are encouraged to informally express their interest to the guest editors.

TOPICS OF INTEREST

  • Topics of interest, but not limited to:

    • Virtualization of FPGAs, GPUs or other accelerators

    • Use of accelerators in virtual machines

    • Quantum computing: offloading computation to accelerators or sharing accelerators among computers

    • Resource management and scheduling for accelerator virtualization in heterogeneous clusters

    • Communication methods for accelerator virtualization

    • Energy-aware accelerator virtualization techniques

    • Application-specific cluster and datacenter accelerator virtualization

    • Software cluster-level virtualization for consolidation purposes

    • Techniques for aggregation of virtual accelerators​

    • Virtualization techniques and strategies for upcoming Fog/Edge computing and Internet of Things IoT systems

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

  • Submissions must follow these guidelines:

    • Please submit your paper to Manuscript central as ACCVI2018 special issue.

    • Submissions should be prepared for publication according to the journal submission guidelines.

    • We recommend using the Latex template provided by Wiley.

    • Submitted manuscripts may not exceed 25 pages using this format.

    • The submitted papers must have at least 50% different material beyond any other previously published work.

    • Submission deadline: October 29 2018. Extended to December 2, 2018

    • Notification: December 17, 2018. Extended to January 21, 2019

    • Revision Due: January 21, 2019. Extended to February 25, 2019

    • Final decision due: February 25, 2019. Extended to March 25, 2019

    • Camera-ready paper due: March 12, 2019. Extended to April 8, 2019

    • Electronic Publication: four months after all final papers submitted
